Foam

A trilaminate structure comprised of a non-adherent wound contact layer, a highly absorbent central layer and an outer layer that is waterproof and aids in the prevention of bacterial contamination. This structure produces a moist wound environment for those wounds that have traditionally proved difficult to treat because the exudate is hard to manage. Very absorbent and can usually be left in place for up to three to four days.

Absorbs large amounts of secretions, which may help prevent maceration and maintain the condition of the skin in the peristomal area. High absorbency requires fewer dressing changes.

On wounds using three or more foam dressings per week, ALLEVYN Life will remove the need for at least one of those dressing changes.
